RHS New Gardening: How to Garden in a Changing Climate
24th April 2008 at Le Cotils
A talk by Matthew Wilson, author of "RHS New Gardening: How to Garden in a Changing Climate". Matthew Wilson believes the days of the traditional English garden are numbered because they are unsustainable without intensive management. He embraces sustainability and wants gardeners to work with nature rather than against it. He advises gardeners to 'reuse, recycle and sustain' their gardens by embracing environmentally friendly methods. Gardens are a part of the wider environment and the impact of managing them must be considered in a wider context. Matthew Wilson encourages local food production to avoid air miles, chemicals and packaging. The event begins at 19:00 with a welcoming drink. His talk begins at 19:30. Tickets are £8.00 (or £6.00 for RHS members) and can be purchased by calling the Tourist Information Centre on 01481 723552.
